Author Visit - Tom Watson

Tom Watson, acclaimed children's book author and illustrator, including the Stick Dog series of books, visited Holston View on Tuesday, February 20. The visit was sponsored by Communities In Schools of Appalachian Highlands.
Mr. Watson did an interactive presentation with students, teaching them to draw various illustrations from his books. After the presentations, he participated in a small group question and answer session while enjoying lunch with students and teachers.
The visit was designed to encourage students to fall in love with reading, writing, and drawing. Mr. Watson also sought to motivate students to excel in reading and maybe even pursue a career as an author and/or illustrator.
